Machinebug is an independent creative studio offering a broad range of visual communication services — branding, identity systems, editorial design, packaging, and web design.
A multi-application design system was developed to redefine the studio’s visual identity, with formal economy as its governing principle. Within that framework, the system alternates between two opposing approaches: abstraction — prioritising negative space and reduction of means — and deconstruction, where composition challenges established typographic and grid conventions. The shift between the two generates strong rhythmic variation across the visual narrative of the full application set.
Elemental geometry serves as the system’s organising logic, treating shapes, letterforms, and forms as modular units — reconfigured and redeployed across applications while maintaining the visual coherence of the overall brand identity.
